About
What is the Purpose of Leechon? — “Lovely trash you got there!” Walk into any store and pick up the latest DVD. Look at the colors, listen to the sounds. See it. How crisp, how vibrant, how attractive it seems. What you have in your hand there is … such, such amazingly, beautified, gorgeous…trash.
Some Muslims may say, “We don’t need to put up all this flashy mumbo jumbo for dawah.” They expect the usual recording of lectures - you know the ones with the horrible audio and visual quality; those lectures where they gather people around and read to them a book in the most monotone voice possible. And in the end you’re left there holding trashy-treasure; some ugly looking jewels.
For Leechon it’s all about Ihsaan! Not badazzled garbage or hideous treasure.
We want to spend time polishing and shining the real jewels that nurture souls, encourage good and truly forbid evil. The purpose of Leechon is to give the beautiful vibrant message of Islam its due rights by calling people to it in an equally beautiful manner.

Become Part of the Story! – Stories are a means of relating an experience and giving lessons to people. As Allah says in the Quran, “Indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for men of understanding.” (Yusuf:111) They are also a means of strengthening the hearts. Even the Prophet Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam’s heart was strengthened by them. “And all that We relate to you of the news of the Messengers is in order that We may make strong and firm your heart thereby. And in this has come to you the truth, as well as an admonition and a reminder for the believers.” (Hud: 120)

Background – Leechon is a company started by Belal Khan, an ambitious college student who had a knack for film production. What started as simple classroom projects in high school soon grew to become one of the most successful mediums for Islamic Media in the United States. In 2006 Khan decided to turn his hobby into reality, and brought his efforts under a company. This is where Leechon Films came to exist. As time progressed, he honed his skills at film-making through opportunities that allowed him to work on short commercials, promotional videos and documentaries. From there Khan’s hobby soon grew into a full-time job.
