I Love Continental Airlines
Some people may be familiar with “SSSS” on their boarding passes. I don’t know what it means or stands for but it has something to do with the words “secondary”, “selection” and “screening” — I like to call it Super Special Security Service. It kind of makes you feel special (In a not so pleasant way).
One of the perks of what I do is that I get to travel. I love it!
Couple weeks ago I attended a seminar on film Distribution in Arlington, VA – I blogged about that here:

I just came back from servicing a client. Next weekend I’m going to Los Angeles for a seminar on internet marketing for filmmakers. — For more info on this, read the following post: http://www.leechon.com/be-my-classmate-453.htm
When you travel you want your journey to be as smooth as possible. I’ve flown with American Airlines a number of times, and smooth is something they don’t know. A number of times I’ve been one of the first people to check in my luggage and they have to go through a number of calls and “check ups.” By the time I get my boarding pass, I’m the last one to get on the place due to all the different check points I have to go through because I have “SSSS” on my boarding pass.
American Airlines biggest problem isn’t the “SSSS” on the boarding passes. It’s their entire setup. Almost everytime I’m on an exchange flight there have been delays and messes. One time I had to spend the night at the air port because they kept canceling flights, and on top of that they didn’t let me on the plane when I got to the terminal, telling me that I was late and the plane has to leave on time. There was five more minutes to go before they stopped boarding! I have many more stories to tell about American Airlines, and I’m sure many of you have heard many more.
Continental on the other hand is great! They don’t give me the “SSSS” and they make me feel important. On the exchange in Houston, my flight was a little late coming in. I was the only passenger from the Newark flight that was on that exchange to my destination. Continental people radioed in a cart driver to pick me up from the terminal train to bring me to the plane. Now that’s service. — Not to mention the high spirited fight attendents.
I think I’m going to sign up for Continental’s OnePass Frequent Flyer Program. I think I’m going to go out of my way to fly with them next time. I wish I had booked Continental for my flight to Los Angeles. — Who knows, maybe someone in AA’s corporate HQ will read this and not give me a hard time this coming weekend.

How much are they paying you for promoting them?

haha =D
“Not to mention the high spirited fight attendents”
Fight attendants eh? They even have fights aboard the plane? Now that’s just too cool!
SSSS - Snakes on a plane…

Assalamou alaikum wa rahmatullah,
I have only been on a plane a few times and of those times most of them apart from 2 or something have been continental airlines.
However, I have a different experience.
I was told I’d get a halal meal on flight and that didn’t happen. Instead for all of my flights I was subject to lettuce. I just ate lettuce on every flight because there was no alternative…
“One of the perks of what I do is that I get to travel. I love it!”
Why do you get to travel? Who pays for all your flight tickets as well? If n oone pays you, where on earth do you get all the money from? You just seem to fly everywhere doing stuff. Belal, what is it exactly that you do!?? What is your job? I thought you were a university student anyway? University students can’t afford to fly everywhere I’m totally confused… I wish I could fly everywhere for the sake of Allah…:(

It’s been a while since I’ve been served a meal on a flight. They give plenty of drinks and snacks though.
I never said that I do this stuff for free, not to say that it’s not done for the sake of Allah-swt. Technically I work for Leechon, a registered legal entity in the United States. The clients pay Leechon for services rendered. The traveling is either paid for by the client, or counted as a company expense, depending on the nature of the travel.
What’s my “job title”? — my business card says “producer”
— but at the moment I wear may hats of camera man, editor, producer, webmaster, graphic designer, sales rep, marketer, blah
As for “University students can’t afford to fly everywhere” — I don’t think that’s true

Unless you’re on a gap year, or you have clients you pay your travel fees, it’s true
AlBaraa Says: 07.10.08 at 8:00 pm
Well…I guess being a part-time student combined with clients covering travel costs has something to do with it.

Asalaam Aleikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatu,
I do go out of my way to fly with them (domestically). They’re service really is better.
Also keep in mind one of their three hubs is Newark, so New Jerseyans get an extra advantage when they use continental.

WOW, after I read this I ended up going to the airport which is rare for me, with a bunch of people who were traveling… Muslims!
Long story short they all had SSSS on their boarding passes, they flew United Airlines, when they got to the front of the line the man said “Ma’am, step aside! You are SPECIAL!”
At this point they realized I wasn’t lying about this…
