They still have some extras that they sell at events. I saw some of the DVDs sets being sold at Western Sunrise at QNurayn (DC Area).

From what I understand of your question is that you’re asking if it’s the whole IlmFest conference. Did I understand correctly?

If I did, then no, it’s not the seminar. It’s missing several sessions. In fact, I took the most beneficial topics from each speaker (except AbdulBary Yahya because we ran out of time due to deadline) and included some bonus lectures from speakers who weren’t at IlmFest 2009 and put them on the DVD.

I was working at the AlMaghrib booth at RIS, alhamdulillah and I got the IlmFest DVD set. I was kind of confused when the first disc, Disc 1 had 3 lectures on it? I haven’t had a chance to watch all of the discs yet. So its not the whole conference, is my main query.

Think of the DVDs as a loss leader. It costs about $8 to produce them, however, anyone who registers for a class has the opportunity to purchase it at the price so it makes up for the $3 difference in class registration fee.

As for crowd sourcing for the Annur conference – what’s the objective of the DVDs?

With this set, its a means of gifting students attending the seminar and promoting AlMaghrib. It’s really a marketing cost.

If you could expand a bit on the technical aspect of this that would be awesome. How exactly did you get the cost so low? I assume It’s subsidized by AlMaghrib in order to promote AlMaghrib material right? I hope I’m wrong =X

I want to know because I will be filming parts of the Annur conference to push to DVD inshaAllah, but we’re going to kind of be crowd sourcing =D Any tips? I know DVD duplication can be a pain =/ so tips on that to cut costs would be awesome.

We would love to push these at Annur Conference next week, hit me up if that’s possible! We have an AlMaghrib booth booked too.
